God Only Sees Lifeforce

I think we maybe do it from some ache,
some need that silently explains to us
that we have to do it.
It was ordained that we must.
"All I ever do is try to make you happy"!
How many women have pleaded those words?
She thinks she is doing
what she is supposed to.
He doesn't understand why she does
what she does.
He doesn't remember what the Romans did.
He has forgotten when God was a woman.

She cleans and fixes
and fusses to improve his world.
Maybe even his reality.
He gets mad and defensive
and feels his world of security
shake with her fumbling invasion
of his sameness.
God only sees life force.

In Egypt, women were in authority.
In Rome, the men had taken all control.
45 years before Christ was born,
God was still a woman sometimes.
The Amazons shared a healthy
sense of community and though
I respect that,
I am thinking we could
make better choices.
God only sees life force.
If it's all the same to you,
well,
I want to be a God, too.
